There are many natural remedies for dark, uneven skin that you probably have right in your own kitchen, which means you won’t have to spend a fortune to get great results. Some of these ingredients are honey, almond oil, oatmeal, and baking soda.
Honey is just plain amazing for your skin! It is sometimes referred to as nature’s antibiotic because of its natural ability to heal and protect the skin from blemishes and scarring. It can also moisturize and exfoliate- getting rid of the dead skin cells that can contribute to a dull, darker skin tone. In addition to all of that, honey will also help to lighten the skin. Simply mix equal parts honey and baking soda and into a paste. Apply the paste to the skin and wait for twenty minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Repeat once a week.
Almond oil is packed with vitamins A and E, and helps to nourish the skin as it lightens dark spots, and evens out skin tone. It also works well at reducing dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. You can rub a few drops of oil under your eyes at night and rinse off in the morning. It can also be made into a paste.
Oatmeal can be mixed with water or milk to create a paste. Leave on for about fifteen minutes to exfoliate and cleanse the skin. The amino acids in oatmeal work well to lighten dark spots, scars, or any other skin discolorations.
Make a paste with baking soda and water and massage onto the skin. It is an amazing exfoliator and will leave your skin feeling softer, smoother, and more even. Do this three or four times a week. Add a few drops of lemon juice to the paste to increase its whitening effect.
